The V Man kicked off the morning with a killer swim – 1500m. Next on the blocks was Liam, Scott, Benny and Jamie Eason in the 100 breast.  Great swims all round with 2 of our lads making the final, Team Stirling final form continues.

Cara continued the momentum with an strong 100 Back to secure her place in the 15/16 final.  A tight turn around for Cara as she led off the girls medley relay, changing over with Elinor who we were unsure if she would be able to swim the night before as she had sprung a rib, but with some TLC, ibuprofen and positive thinking she was there to give it her all.  Ella put in a fantastic fly swim to pass over to Danger Stanger who was at the helm to finish strongly and was just touched out – the girls should be very proud of their 12th place performance, great team effort.

The afternoon session saw Amy smash her entry time in the 100 back to secure a place in the final exceeding everyone’s expectations.  The girls 10-14 medley relay suffered an injury set back with Emily unable to breast stroke kick effectively in the warm up.  Panic stations, but problem solved with a quick re-jig of the girls in their stroke positions and the team were ready to go.  A gutsy effort by all the girls, especially Emily swimming through the pain barrier.

Team Stirling were set for the finals with 4 swimmers with their backing crew ready to roar.  The boys were first up in the 100 Breast and did the Club proud with strong swims with Benny securing 5th place followed by Scott in 6th.  Amy was next in the water in 100 Back, our surprise finalist given she had been seeded 22nd finishing 12 places higher in 10th position!  Cara May was our next finalist to hear the Stirling roar which spurred her on to swim faster than she had in the heats tanking it into 8th position.

One day left in the meet and Team Stirling are still buzzing, bring on the last day, we’re fuelled (Hilary and Bid have done a fantastic job, and the pudding tonight was worth a dance – Amy has photographic evidence!) One more sleep and let’s see what we can produce.
