The second morning began with Scott Macarthur narrowly missing out on a final in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2.01.14 Following on from this positive start Cara swam a PB in the 200 backstroke heats to make it through to the final where she finished 7th. Elinor also made the final of the 100m breaststroke where she swam a time of 1.15.77 to finish 7th. Emily also swam a great race in the breaststroke- missing the final by 0.3 seconds. In the afternoon session, Amy carried on the good work by swimming a PB in the 200 backstroke to finish in the first reserve position, missing the final by just 0.08 seconds. Although there was only one swimmer competing a lot of the rest of the team came to watch and give support, which made a big difference.
It was decided that the day’s excellent performances were down to Bid and Hilary’s tasty chicken curry the night before! (Thank you team managers!)
Away from the pool, Benny once again showed his skills with drains-after previously rescuing his keys from the manhole outside- when he successfully unclogged the upstairs toilet with his bare hand. What a legend! Everyone wanted a good look and photographic proof of the hilarity. Benny has now earned the title of official Stirling drainologist!
