Great start to the season!

Well done and congratulations to all the swimmers who raced at the Central Gala in Grangemouth yesterday helping Stirling lift the top club trophey.  It was a great team effort and I was encouraged by not only the racing but also the support that our swimmers gave each other.  We can still do better at this and must make every effort to maintain the Stirling noise at every meet we race at.

The new squads and timetable are up and running and the coaches are getting to know the swimmers and finalising plans for the season ahead.

I have a challenge for all the swimmers to start keeping a record of their pb's and for those of you who already do this, keep up the good work.  You need to be able to finish a race, look at the clock and know that you have just swam a personal best time.  It's a good idea to have a wee notebook that you have with you on race days so that you can write them down on the day - especially if you are likely to forget by the time you get home!!

It's our own Autumn meet at the Peak 21st-22nd September and this is another great chance for the whole club to pull together to make this a success.  Swimmers racing can do this in the pool but we also need parents and swimmers not racing on the day to come along and help out.

I also need to increase our pool of poolside parent volunteers so if anyone is interested in lending a hand either on a regular basis or at speciifc times, like testing weeks, then please get in touch at headcoach@stirlingswimming.co.uk

Happy swimming Laughing
