Summer Camp - Fantastic end to a great season

The last four days have played host to the club's annual summer camp, rounding off a great 2011/2012 season. The Olympic -themed camp brought together 44 swimmers swimmers from all squads within the club. All swimmers were divided into 5 teams, each team being a colour of the Olympic rings.

The camp started with each team coming up with their own country and flag. Each day consisted of stroke and skill development sessions in the pool, as well as many team challenges, land activities and education sessions delivered by various guest speakers.  One team challenge in particular was to create their own Olympic torch, and the winning design was decided by an Olympic swimmer training in Stirling on the lead up to the Olympics. The Paralympics were also included within the camp with swimmers having the opportunity to try out sitting volleyball.

The winning team this year were the greens, who were awarded with their chocolate gold medals.

Despite the horrible weather on Day 1, all swimmers were really enthusiastic from the start and it was great to see the team spirit and support build throughout the four days.

Well done to all swimmers over the past year and thanks to all coaches and parents who have helped make this year a success. Keep up all the hard work and enjoy the well deserved break! See you all in a couple of weeks for the start of the 2012/ 2013 season Laughing
