Stirling Success at Olympic Trials

For those not following the results or watching on the red button here is a round up of the Stirling success at the British Olympic and Paralympic Trials 2012.

Joe Welstead raced in the 100m breaststroke setting a new life time best in the heats and qualifying for the semi finals.  An excellent semi final swim against some of the best breast strokers in the world saw Joe take another drop in time to finish in 13th place overall in 1.03.1.  This weekend Joe heads off to Dunkirk to race in the French Olympic trials.

Martin Cremin swam a superb heat swim in the 1500m freestyle to drop his best time by 14 seconds to 15.26.  Not quite able to recreate this form in the final, but still put in a solid swim racing in his first ever British Olympic trials final in front of a crowd of 2, 500 people.  Martin's heat time ranks him 5th in GB and 23rd in the World.

Jim Anderson put on some good swims ahead of final Paralympic trials in April and won the 50m back.

Hope Gordon swam in 3 events and posted 3 life time bests - a great meet and looking good for Disability Junior Championships in March and final British Disability Championships in April.
