Well done and congratulations to all the swimmers who raced at the Central Gala in Grangemouth yesterday helping Stirling lift the top club trophey. It was a great team effort and I was encouraged by not only the racing but also the support that our swimmers gave each other. We can still do better at this and must make every effort to maintain the Stirling noise at every meet we race at.
The new squads and timetable are up and running and the coaches are getting to know the swimmers and finalising plans for the season ahead.
I have a challenge for all the s
Head Coach Notes from October........
We are now just over halfway through the warm weather training camp in Torremolinos and the swimmers are really stepping up to the mark. Their work ethic has been fantastic and it is an excellent experience for them training outside in the warm climate.
I am taking part in the Stirling Aquathlon 14th October at the University in a bit to raise some money for my work charity Wateraid. If any one would like to donate I have set up an online just giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Clare-Dawson1 Any donations would be greatly appreciated, even if its just 50p!
A massive WELL DONE to all those who competed at the Stirling Autumn Meet at the weekend. This was an extremely successful meet for Stirling with 14 golds, 14 silvers and 17 bronze medals being won over to the two days! On top of that it was PBs galore with 84% of nearly 200 swims being PBs. Fantastic effort all round! Keep up the hard work! :D
Thanks to all those who have submitted entries for the club costume competition, I'm really impressed. We are currently going through them all and more information will follow soon :)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for all swimmers within the club. We are looking for some budding artists to design a new costume for Stirling Swimming. The design is totally up to you, the only rule is that it must include the club colours somewhere within the design (black and yellow). Templates that swimmers can use are pinned up on the notice board at the university. All entries must be back to me either through email or at the pool, by Sunday 19th August.
I'm really looking forward to seeing all the designs so let's get creative!
